Who We Are
Blaken Press is a Design Studio rooted in illustration, branding and craft-driven production. Based in the San Fernando Valley of Los, Angeles, CA, Blaken Press was founded in 2015 by illustrator and designer Jeremy Berger.
Originally from California’s Central Valley, Jeremy relocated to Los Angeles to attend ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, where he studied illustration and printmaking. After graduating, Jeremy built a successful career as a graphic artist in the apparel industry, collaborating with iconic brands such as Harley-Davidson, Fasthouse Moto and Wrangler Jeans. Through this experience, he mastered the intricacies of creating production-ready artwork, from initial concept to final execution.
Recognizing a need for both high-quality design services and artist-led print production, Jeremy founded Blaken Press Design Co. Today, Blaken Press serves as both a creative studio and experimental print shop, offering design services for brands seeking unique artwork, as well as boutique production. Whether you’re a global brand or an independent label, Blaken Press ensures every project receives the attention to detail and creative vision it deserves.
What does Blaken Press mean?
The name “Blaken” comes from the Dutch word Blāken, meaning “to scorch or burn,” a nod to Jeremy’s beginnings in relief printmaking. Today, Blaken Press remains true to its artistic roots, and still uses a century-old etching press to produce limited-edition prints alongside modern screen printing techniques for custom T-shirts and apparel.
